WHO WE ARE

St. Columba by-the-Lake Presbyterian Church is a dynamic community of people on the West Island of Montreal who seek to follow God, known to many of us in Jesus and through stories of Scripture, and who express their faith in unique and creative ways. Since 1953, we have been committed to community, learning and faith-in-action. We provide space for community connections. Inspired by our faith, we nourish body and soul through food, words, actions and music. We believe in innovative, open-minded and inclusive worship. We seek to live and explore faith where everyone has the opportunity to discover their spiritual centre.

The people of St. Columba come from many different faiths and cultural backgrounds. We are committed to growing in faith through a contemporary view of scripture, heart lifting music, and stimulating preaching. We understand that while each of our faith journeys is unique, we all travel a common road.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Our worship is a celebration of faith and community that is as inclusive for kids as it is for adults. Through music, stories (from our lives, our world, and the Bible) and prayers, we are strengthened and challenged, encouraged by one another to faithfully live and serve.

Our worship service starts at 10 a.m in person or you can watch our live stream service. Recently, we have been glad to welcome a worshipping community from Lumia Private Retirement Home, who join us by live stream from their cinema. See more details about All Ages worship in the Kids section of our website.

WHO WE PARTNER WITH

We are alive when we work in partnership with others, sharing what we have and learning from each other. We value being active in issues both locally and globally, partnering with a variety of organizations and faith groups that include: D’Ici D’Ailleurs Presbyterian World Service and Development, Action Réfugiés Montréal, West Island Mission, Youth Unlimited, Presbyterian Sharing, Tyndale-St. Georges Community Centre,  and the Family Life Centre.

We are committed to engaging with our community in need by volunteering time, raising funds and awareness to help support communities in crisis around the world. We recognize the value of being inclusive and finding ways for all participants to contribute.
