Repentance and Healing – LGBTQI / Community News, Featured / By Laura Downey At St. Columba, for decades we have sought to be welcoming and affirming of all people, but it is important to hear the stories of LGBTQI people, repent for harm done by the Presbyterian Church in Canada and move towards healing. We encourage you to watch this poignant and painful video ,that ends with hope (note that the first 30 seconds have no sound). We are grateful to all who had the courage to share their stories. This week, the Presbyterian Church in Canada acknowledged harm, affirmed that we are all beloved of God, committed to offer a public confession, to create guidelines and resources to enable safe spaces and an inclusive way forward. An additional motion directed a letter of apology be sent to the Rev. Darryl MacDonald and past members of St. Andrew’s Lachine (through Summerlea United).
